Director of Agronomy

Kevin Ackerman’s extensive knowledge and oversight of operations in turf grass maintenance and agronomic programs ensures the Royal Wood membership superior playing conditions year round. Kevin’s continuous planning of agronomic practices, budgeting, scheduling, renovations and forecasting of future projects details the comprehensive programs for extensive soil and tissue health for the turf. Kevin exceeds all government guidelines and laws making Royal Wood a safe place to live, play and work. He maintains all licenses required by the county, state and federal by continuing education. Kevin communicates directly with the course Superintendent and maintains a strong relationship of respect and appreciation with the staff. Kevin oversees small and large equipment purchases, capital expenditures and renovation budgetary planning. Through teamwork, we exceed our yearly vision and goals to enhance Royal Wood as a premium golfing experience.

Golf Course Superintendent

John attended Ohio State University, where he successfully completed a two-year program in Turfgrass Management in 2015. He holds a commercial applicator license for the state of Florida, demonstrating his expertise in maintaining the health and quality of turf. Additionally, is certified by the University of Florida in Golf Course Best Management Practices, highlighting his commitment to implementing sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. With extensive experience in overseeing multimillion-dollar construction projects at private golf clubs, John possesses a deep understanding of everything involved in managing and enhancing golf course facilities. Recognizing the significance of course longevity and staff management, John consistently prioritizes these aspects to ensure the club's long-term success. He collaborates closely with the Director of Agronomy to develop comprehensive plans and effectively communicate with the staff.
