Director of Golf

Greg started his PGA career on May 5th, 1985 at the Hunt Valley C.C. , a 27 hole private course in Maryland. He then spent the next twelve years as a Head Professional at three different courses. He moved to Florida in December of 2000. Upon arriving in Florida he worked at the Fiddlesticks C.C. in Ft. Myers, then took the job as Director of Golf at the Lakewood C.C. in Naples. After 5 years at Lakewood, he moved to North Carolina to become the Director of Golf at the White Oak Plantation, this course ran into financial troubles and never opened. Greg then moved back to Florida in Nov. of 2006. He has spent 11 years as the first Assist. at Royal Wood until becoming the Director of Golf on May 1st, 2019. Greg has been a Class A member of the PGA of America for 31 yrs., he has attained a status of a life long member of the PGA.

Wyatt Turner

Title

Asst. Golf Professional

Wyatt is from the small town of Dyer, TN. He attended the University of Tennessee at Martin pursuing a career in pharmacy, but fell in love with the game of golf. He graduated from UTM in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Performance. Wyatt began his golf career as an Assistant Pro at Pinecrest Golf & CC. He later became the Head Pro both at Milan Golf & CC and at Gibson County Golf Course. Wyatt moved to FL in Dec. 2017 to further his golf career. He became an Assistant Pro at Bonita National Golf & CC, and later promoted as the 1st Assistant. Wyatt spent just under five years at Bonita National. He left in Sept. 2021 to go to Kelly Greens Golf & CC for a short stint as an Assistant Pro before coming to Royal Wood. Wyatt recently married his wife, Kristen, who is a teacher. They have a Teddy Bear dog named Mr. Theo. Wyatt is currently pursuing his Class A PGA Membership. He is excited to be here and serve the members of Royal Wood!

Cary “Todd" Werder

Title

Assistant Golf Professional

Todd Werder was previously employed as PGA assistant at Windstar on Naples Bay for 5 years and Heritage Bay for 10 years. Elected to PGA membership in 2004. He has a passion for teaching which allows him to keep learning all aspects of the game, keeping in mind no two players swing the same and patience truly is a virtue. After graduating on the Dean’s List from Western IL University in 1999, He interned at Winnetka Golf Club then spent combined 10 years as Professional at Royal Melbourne and Biltmore CC, both in Chicagoland. He’s looking forward to working with and meeting all the members at Royal Wood and is excited to be working with such a great professional staff.
